A trusted PR resource for the founders in your portfolio.
Give portfolio founders experienced PR support for launches, funding announcements, company visibility, and founder authority—without requiring your platform team to vet a new agency every time.
Not another agency to vet. A standing PR resource your founders can rely on.
Communications support is increasingly part of the platform job: helping founders earn coverage, shape announcements, and build visibility. That work fits a resource the whole portfolio can share, not a fresh vendor search every time a company has news.
PressFriendly slots into that role. Founders get senior operators for the recurring PR moments—launches, funding, milestones, and founder authority—and your platform team gets one trusted path instead of an inbox full of agency pitches.
On the growing role of communications inside a fund, Axios: communications as a VC portfolio tool.
Pick the formats that fit how your platform team works.
Each is a way to put experienced PR support in front of your founders. They can run on their own or stack together.
Portfolio PR-readiness office hours
Recurring, low-commitment sessions where your founders bring a launch, a funding round, or a visibility question and get direct answers from senior operators. No retainer required to take part.
Founder workshops on newsworthiness and media pitching
Group sessions that teach founders how to tell whether they actually have news, how to shape an announcement, and how to pitch reporters—so they arrive at any PR conversation already prepared.
A trusted referral path for launches, funding, and ongoing PR
When a founder needs hands-on execution, they get a warm introduction to a team your platform has already evaluated—no need to source and screen a new agency for every company that needs one.
Optional fund-sponsored sprints or portfolio programs
Funds that want to invest directly in portfolio communications can sponsor time-boxed PR sprints or a standing program made available across the portfolio, scoped with your platform team.
The rules on confidentiality, conflicts, and cost are set up front.
Platform teams have to protect founders and stay clear of conflicts. Here is how we handle the questions that come up before any introduction.
- Founder conversations stay confidential and are not reported back to the fund.
- Competing portfolio companies are firewalled; we decline both-sides conflicts.
- No markup and no referral fee—founders pay our published rates directly.
- An introduction is optional; the founder scopes, sees pricing, and decides.
- How do you handle confidentiality?
- Everything shared in office hours, workshops, and introductions is treated as confidential. Founder plans, unannounced rounds, and roadmap details are not reported back to the fund or shared with other portfolio companies unless the founder explicitly asks us to.
- What about conflicts between portfolio companies?
- Direct competitors within a portfolio are kept on separate teams with separate information, and we decline work that would put us on both sides of a competitive announcement. We flag a potential conflict before an engagement starts, not after.
- Who pays for the support?
- Office hours and workshops can be sponsored by the fund or paid by the founder—your choice. Ongoing PR engagements that follow a referral are contracted and paid directly by the portfolio company at our published rates. There is no markup or referral fee charged to the fund.
- What happens after you introduce us to a founder?
- An introduction is a starting point, not an obligation. The founder takes a scoping call, sees pricing before any commitment, and decides independently whether to proceed. The fund is not billed and is not a party to the engagement.
- Do you also do PR for the fund itself?
- This program is about supporting the founders in your portfolio. PR for a firm’s own brand is a separate conversation—reach out and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a fit.
The same programs, without the search.
Behind the partnership are the service lines your founders would otherwise have to find, vet, and price on their own.
